After you select the .CSV file and click
Next, the Import Contacts From CSV dialog box displays a different set of controls so you can map the fields in the .CSV file to
Deltek CRM fields and start the import process.
Field | Description |
Do not import duplicate records
|
If you do not want the import process to import any information for a contact that already exists in
Deltek CRM, select this option.
|
Update duplicate records
|
If you want the import process to update fields in
Deltek CRM for a contact that already exists, select this option. If a field in the existing contact record is blank or contains information that is different from information in the mapped field in the .CSV file, the field in the existing record is updated with the information from the .CSV file.
|
SOURCE FILE FIELD
|
This column contains the field names from your .CSV file.
Deltek CRM assumes that the first row of the .CSV file is a header row and that the values in that row are the field names.
|
DELTEK CRM FIELD
|
Use the fields in this column to select the
Deltek CRM contact field that corresponds to each of the .CSV file fields that you want to import. If the .CSV file contains fields that you do not want to import, select
Do not import for those fields. (The
Do not import option is located at the end of the drop-down list.)
This column displays all fields that you can enter data in on the Add Contact form or the Overview tab in the Contacts area, including custom fields, and it attempts to provide default field mappings based on the field names in your .CSV file and the field names in
Deltek CRM. Review those default mappings and change any that are incorrect.
|
SAMPLE VALUE
|
This column displays the value for each field from the first data row in your .CSV file.
|
Contacts to be imported
|
This field displays the number of contact records that your .CSV file contains.
|
Import
|
To start the import process, click this button.
If any of the imported contact records include
an organization in the
organization field that does not yet exist in
Deltek CRM, a list of those
organizations displays on the New
Organization Records dialog box. Review the list, clear the check boxes for any
organizations that you do not want the import process to create, and click
Add Selected Records.
The import process does the following:
- It adds records for contacts that do not exist in
Deltek CRM.
- If you selected
Update duplicate records, it updates mapped fields in
Deltek CRM based on the information in the .CSV file for any contacts that already exist in
Deltek CRM.
- It adds records for any new
organizations that you selected on the New
Organization Records dialog box.

To close the dialog box without running the import process, click this button. If you mapped fields, you will have to do the mapping again if you decide to run the import at a later time.
