This procedure helps you select how you want information to be transferred to a workflow.
To select the update method, complete the following steps:
On the Navigation menu, click Administration » Workflow Type Configuration.
On the Workflow Type Configuration form, navigate to the workflow type to which you want to add the field using the VCR buttons or the Search field.
On the General tab, in the Workflow Source Information Update Method section, select one of the following options:
Automatic Update — Select this option if you want PM Compass to transfer the information from the PM Compass tables to the workflow type whenever PM Compass retrieves the workflow type from the database. This option is useful for displaying current information such as the control account description.
Manual Update — Select this option if you want to populate the source fields with information from the PM Compass tables when you create a workflow and select the Refresh option. This is useful for workflows that are approved and used as a document of record. For example, a Work Authorization is a standard form that does not change after it is approved, even when the source information changes.
On the form toolbar, click Save.
