The Field Change action changes the value of a database column when the alert is triggered.

To create a Column (Field) Change action for a workflow, complete the following steps:
Display the Alerts form. How?
Select an Area type from the drop-down list. This field dictates the area of PM Compass to be used in the alert’s conditions and actions.
In the Alerts grid, select the workflow row (event) to which you want to add the action.
In the Actions grid, click Insert and select Field Change.
Complete the information on the Field Change Configuration dialog box.
Complete the information on the Alerts grid.
Click Save.
