Relationships Tab of the Schedule Analysis View

This tab displays the relationships for the activity that you selected in the Schedule Analysis grid of the Schedule Analysis view to other activities. An activity is displayed on the Relationships tab either as a Predecessor or Successor of the activity in the Schedule Progress grid.

Click the drop-down arrow to display the following options:

  • Print — Select this option to display the Print Preview form.

  • Export to Excel — Select this option to open the Microsoft Excel application with the grid’s contents displayed.

  • Enable Grouping — Select this option to set a field that will be used to group the records in the grid. You can then drag a column heading from the grid that will be used as the main grouping field.

Description

Activity ID

This column displays the activities related to the activity that you selected in the Schedule Progress grid of the Enter Schedule Progress form. An activity is displayed in the Relationships tab either as a predecessor or successor of the activity in the Schedule Progress grid.

Clicking an activity in this column displays the Schedule Analysis view for that activity.

Type

This column displays the activity type.

  • Finish to Start — You cannot modify any fields for the successor activity unless the predecessor activity’s actual finish date is earlier or equal to the actual start date for the selected activity.

  • Start to Start — You cannot enter an actual finish date for the selected activity that is earlier than the actual finish date of the predecessor activity.

  • Start to Finish — You cannot modify any fields for the selected activity unless the predecessor activity’s actual start date is earlier than or the same as the actual start date of the selected activity.

  • Finish to Finish — You can only enter an actual finish date for the selected activity if the actual finish date is the same as or later than the actual start date of the predecessor activity.

Relationship

This column displays whether the selected activity in the Relationships grid is a predecessor or a successor to the activity selected in the Schedule Analysis grid of the Schedule Analysis view.

Total Float

This column displays the maximum number of work periods by which an activity can be delayed without delaying project completion or going beyond the forecast finish date.

Free Float

This column displays the maximum amount by which an activity can be delayed beyond its early dates without delaying any successor activity beyond its early dates.

Lag

This column displays the time delay between the start or finish of an activity and the start or finish of its successor(s).

Description

This column displays a description of the selected activity in the Relationships grid.

Forecast Start

This column displays the forecast start date for the selected activity in the Relationships grid.

Forecast Finish

This column displays the forecast finish date for the selected activity in the Relationships grid.
