Workflow Form View: Child Workflows Tab

This tab displays all of the child workflows of the selected change request. You can associate child workflows with their parent or disassociate them from a parent. You can move the child workflows grid to a different tab for the change management type or add other fields to the Child Workflows tab.

All workflow categories in PM Compass share a common form toolbar.

Multiple Control Accounts

When the Multiple control accounts: Generate this workflow type field on the General tab of Workflow Type Configuration is selected, you cannot manually make any changes to a child workflow on this tab.

Grid

The columns in the grid are read-only. You can click the title to display the child workflows details. You cannot select multiple workflows to edit, copy, or delete.

Edit

Click this button to display the selected workflow's details on the form where you can edit them.

For a Contract Change child workflow, you can only edit the Proposed Change field.

Copy Selected Child

Click this button to create a copy of the child workflow where the row selector is. PM Compass displays the new record after it creates a copy.

You must save the association of the child workflow to the parent change request before you can create a copy of the child workflow.

Associate

Click this button to create an association between the current parent change request record and a child workflow. You can use this button when you created a child workflow independently or when you disassociated it from a different parent change request.

To complete the association, you must save the parent change request.

When you click the Association button, PM Compass displays the Workflow Search dialog box where you can select one or more child workflows to associate with the parent change request.

This dialog box displays the workflows that:

  • Have a relationship setting of Workflow Can be a Child

  • You have permission to access

  • Are not a child of another parent change request

  • Are not already associated with the current parent change request

  • Are active

The dialog box displays workflows that meet these criteria even if they are already suspended or closed.

Remove

Click this button to remove the selected child workflow from the grid and disassociate it from the parent change request. This does not delete the child workflow from the system.
