The Resources tab displays the resource assignment data for the activity. Use this tab to enter progress at the resource level.
When you enter progress at the resource level, PM Compass calculates the progress at the activity level and displays it in the Physical % Complete column of the Enter Schedule Progress form grid.
Some of the fields are pulled from the schedule each time you access this view instead of being stored as part of the change when you create the Progress entry. These fields are not editable.

Insert |
If you want to add a remaining quantity to a resource that is not budgeted, click this button to add a new row in the grid and identify the resource, and the remaining quantity. The Open Plan Progress Based on Activity Progress field must be deselected in order to edit remaining quantity. This button is not available if your scheduling tool is Microsoft Project because PM Compass doesn't support updating the remaining resources. |
Delete |
Click to delete the selected row. You can only delete a row that you have added since the last approval. If the assignment record in the selected row already exists in Open Plan, this option is disabled. |
The columns available in the Resources grid vary depending on the cost system you are using. You cannot modify the values in these columns except for those under Remaining Quantity.

Description |

Description |
This column displays a description of the resource. You cannot modify this field. |
Budget |
This column displays the budget for the resource assigned to the activity. When a new resource assignment row is added, this column is not editable and displays as a zero or blank. The value in this column is the same as the value in the Open Plan Total Qty field when the Res. Curve field in Open Plan is blank. Primavera P6 Scheduling ToolIf you change the Remaining Quantity for an activity that has not yet started, Primavera P6 may change the budget. In Primavera P6 Project View, select the Calculations tab, and take note of the setting of the Link Budget and At Completion for not started activities option. If this option is deselected, the remaining quantity will not be linked to the budget, and the P6 project will match what is displayed in PM Compass. If this option is selected, selecting either the Reset Original Duration and Units to Remaining option or Reset Remaining Duration and Units to Original option determines whether the budget changes with the remaining quantity. |
Remaining Quantity |
This column displays the remaining quantity for the resource and is calculated based on project duration. The unit for the remaining quantity is defined in the Unit column. This column is called Remaining in Open Plan. If you change the Progress Type in the Enter Schedule Progress grid to Complete, the Remaining Quantity changes to 0. Open Plan Scheduling ToolThis column is disabled if you use Open Plan as your scheduling tool and the Progress Based on Activity Progress field in Open Plan is selected. MSP / MSP Server Scheduling ToolIf you use MSP/MSP Server as your scheduling tool, you can enter Physical % Complete OR Remaining Quantity, not both. Primavera P6 Scheduling ToolIf you use Primavera P6 as your scheduling tool, you can enter Physical % Complete OR Remaining Quantity, not both. This column is enabled and Physical % Complete is disabled if you deselect the Allow Resource Percent Complete option on the Progress Tab of the System Settings form or the Progress tab of the Projects form. If you change the Remaining Quantity for an activity that has not yet started, Primavera P6 may change the budget. |
Physical % Complete |
Use this column to enter your estimate of the amount of work that this resource assignment has completed in percent format. For existing rows, this field is enabled unless the activity is complete, in which case it is set to 100%. When you update this field, Physical % Complete on the Enter Schedule Progress form is automatically updated. This column is disabled if the Allow Resource Percent Complete option on the Progress Tab of the System Settings form or the Progress tab of the Projects form is selected and the budget is zero. See Percent Complete and Physical % Complete for a detailed description of this field. MSP / MSP Server / P6 Scheduling ToolIf you use MSP/MSP Server or Primavera P6 as your scheduling tool, you can enter Physical % Complete OR Remaining Quantity, not both. This column is enabled and Remaining Quantity is disabled if you clear the Allow Resource Percent Complete option on the Progress Tab of the System Settings form or the Progress tab of the Projects form. |
Class |
This column displays the resource assignment cost class. If this column is included in the grid, PM Compass groups resource assignments by resource and by class. That is, if a resource assignment includes two or more cost classes, the grid displays a separate line for each class. It is included in the grid if the Allow Resource Percent Complete option has been selected on the Progress tab of the System Settings form or on the Progress tab of the Projects form. |
Unit |
