Set Up Washington Paid Family Leave & Medical Leave Report

Before using the Print Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave Report screen, you need to set up the Washington State Family and Medical Leave deduction code and assign it to eligible employees.

To set up the report:

  1. Go to the Manage Deductions screen and set up the WAPFML-type deduction code.
    Note: For more information, refer to the Configure WAPFML-Type Deduction Code topic.
  2. Go to the Manage Deduction Modify Codes screen and set up any pay types that should not be used to calculate the Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave deduction amount.
  3. Go to the Manage Employee Deductions screen and assign the Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave deduction code to the eligible employees.

    If a Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave deduction code is deducted for an employee in a pay period, the eligible timesheet hours and gross pay from that pay period will be included in the Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave Report.

    Note: If the employer is paying the entire premium, then the deduction code would not be assigned to the employee on the Manage Employee Deductions screen.
  4. Go to the Manage Employee Contributions screen and assign the Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave contribution code to eligible employees.

    If a Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave contribution code is processed for an employee in a pay period, the eligible timesheet hours and gross pay from that pay period will be included in the Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave Report.

  5. Go to the Print Washington State Paid Family and Medical Leave Report screen and run the report for the applicable quarter.
