Company Masking Concepts

The Company Masking functionality in Maconomy is designed to mask all user and employee information associated with a specified company.

When activated, it applies the same masking process used for individual user data but on a company-wide scale. This includes:
  • Changing the username to a designated masking value and updating every occurrence of the username across the system, with deletion of the user record if applicable.
  • Modifying the corresponding employee name—as well as names in associated contact and vendor records—to the masked version, while preserving the employee record.
  • Clearing personal information from pertinent fields and the logs that record changes related to user, employee, and related data.
It is important to note that the masking process does not affect attached documents or other data areas (for example, personal details embedded in a G/L dimension). As with user masking, access to the company masking workspace is restricted to users with the necessary privileges.
