Mask Users and Employees

Use this procedure to mask user or employee data in Maconomy.

  • At least one of the columns User mask and Employee mask must contain a value.
  • The values in those columns must be unique.
  • The current user cannot be included in the list of users to mask.
  • The user named Administrator cannot be included in the list of users to mask.

To mask users and employees:

  1. Go to Human Resources > Masking > User Masking.
  2. Enter masking values.
    1. In the User mask field, enter the string to use as the mask. This value will replace all selected user names. Maximum length: 50 characters.
    2. In the Employee mask field, enter the string to use as the mask for employee names. Maximum length: 50 characters.
  3. In the Users for Masking table, click Add User Masking, and enter or search for a User Name in the corresponding column.
This field is not validated, allowing you to mask information for user names that no longer exist in Maconomy but remain in logs or database tables.
  4. Enter or search for an Employee No. in the corresponding column.
This field is validated, and the employee number must exist in Maconomy. You can specify just user names, just employee numbers, or both.
  5. Click Perform User and Employee Masking.
  6. When prompted for confirmation, click OK.
Important: Masking actions are not reversible. Review your entries before clicking OK.
A log file is downloaded to your machine.
  7. Review the log file.
You can save the file for your records. If errors occurred, a message would indicate exceptions in the log file. Share the log file with Deltek Customer Care for support.
