When you associate a category with a report you add data objects and fields commonly used to build those types of reports. For example, reports used to manage courses or requisitions.

You access the Categories widget on the Tools Report Action menu
(Tools >> Categories). It also opens when you click Choose a Category to start creating your report
(Create Report >> Choose a category).
You select or change a report's category by clicking to select it or dragging the category onto the Report Working Area. Selecting a category opens the Fields & Data Objects widget, with the pre-selected objects and fields available for selection in the Your Report's Objects section.
You can change the category associated with your report at any time. Any object that has not yet been added to your report is removed from the Your Report's Objects section and replaced by the new category's objects. A report can be assigned to only one category at a time.
