You can add additional contacts to a project resource plan, including people currently assigned to the project, people from within your organization, and people outside your organization. If you know a resource is required but you do not know the name of the contact that will fulfill the role, you can add placeholders to the plan.
To add additional resources to a project:

Go to the project and click the Resourcing tab.
If the Resourcing tab is not available, click
more to display all available tabs.

Click
Edit Plan.

On the toolbar, click
Add Resources.

On the Add Contacts window, do any of the following:
- To add contacts that are linked to the project, on the Internal To Project tab, select each project member that you want to add.
- To add contacts within your organization that are not linked to the project, on the All Internal tab, select each contact that you want to add.
Note: When you add internal people to a resource plan, they are also added to the project by default. To prevent internal contacts from being added to the resource plan, deselect the
Add resourced internal contacts to Project check box.
- To add placeholders for resources, on the Placeholders tab, select each placeholder that you want to add.
- To add external contacts, on the All tab, search for and select each contact that you want to add.

Click
OK to close the Add Contacts window, and then click
Save on the Resource Planner toolbar to save the changes.
