View and Update Associations for an Organization

Use the Associations tab in the Organizations area to view and maintain lists of the opportunities and other organizations that are associated with the currently selected organization.

The first grid on this tab displays the opportunities that are associated with the organization. You can edit the organization's role information for the opportunities, and you can add new opportunity associations for the organization.

The second grid displays the other organizations that are associated with the organization. You can edit the relationship information for the associations, and you can add new organization associations.

Note: If custom fields are defined for this tab on the Fields & Tabs tab in the Customization area of the Configuration workspace, those fields display below the Organizations grid. As with standard fields, you must make entries in any required custom fields.

To view and update associations for an organization, complete the following steps:
  1. Click to go to the Organizations area.
  2. Use the search field immediately above the organization name to select the organization.
  3. Click the Associations tab.
  4. To add a new opportunity association for the organization, click + Add Opportunity below the Opportunities grid.
  5. If you are adding an opportunity association, select the opportunity in NAME.
    • To search for and display a list of opportunities with names that contain a specific sequence of characters, type the characters in the field and pause.
    • To display the full list, click at the end of the field.
    • If the opportunity has not yet been added in Deltek CRM, you can click + New Opportunity at the bottom of the selection list to display the Add Opportunity form and add the opportunity.
  6. To select or change the organization's role for the opportunity, click in ROLE and select the role.
  7. To provide more detail about the organization's role, enter a description in ROLE DESCRIPTION.

    Click in ROLE DESCRIPTION if you want to apply special formatting (bold, color, and so on) to the description or if you want to display the complete text of a longer description.

  8. To add a new organization association for the organization, click + Add Organization below the Organizations grid.
  9. If you are adding an organization association, select the organization in NAME.
    • To search for and display a list of organizations with names that contain a specific sequence of characters, type the characters in the field and pause.
    • To display the full list, click at the end of the field.
    • If the organization has not yet been added in Deltek CRM, you can click + New Organization at the bottom of the selection list to display the Add Organization form and add the organization.
  10. To select or change the relationship of the organization in NAME to the currently selected organization, click in RELATIONSHIP and select the relationship.

    if you associate the two organizations using the Parent and Subsidiary relationship, keep in mind that you are defining the relationship of the organization in NAME to the currently selected organization. If the organization in NAME is the parent organization of the currently selected organization, select Parent in RELATIONSHIP.

  11. To provide more detail about the relationship between the two organizations, enter a description in RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION.

    Click in RELATIONSHIP DESCRIPTION if you want to apply special formatting (bold, color, and so on) to the description or if you want to display the complete text of a longer description.
